On the drive home from work, I heard Rtd. Captain Leslie Smith give a short speech. While I sympathize with her medical ordeal, I was scratching (not literally) my head about the point of her speech. Are we that short of "inspirational" military service stories that the story of someone in the military who suffered due to a rare blood disorder also needs to be told?
How exactly does her story in any way have anything to do with JMac's case for being President?

RNC
Every time L'Bush talks, her thank-yous remind me of Kyra Sedgewick. And her manner of speaking at the podium makes me half expect her to say at any time, "And the nominees are..." (oscar style).
